Download this articleMicrosoft Foundry agents are AI agents built using Microsoft Azure AI Foundry, designed to support advanced, enterprise‑grade AI scenarios such as custom Copilot agents, integrations, and solution‑specific automation. The Microsoft Foundry agents module in EnPower provides a centralized view of these agents, helping you discover and monitor Foundry agents across the organization and maintain visibility across your environments.
Click Agents in the left navigation and click Microsoft Foundry. Then, refer to the following sections for detailed instructions.
When there are no valid Agent 365 licenses, modern Foundry agent data is retrieved via Microsoft 365 Audits and is available for view only in Agents > Microsoft 365.
The data retrieval method for each agent can be identified in the Data source column.
To view basic details of an agent, click the display name of the agent and you will be navigated to the Agent details page.
In the Basics tab, general information of the agent is displayed, including agent ID, instruction, model, tools, subscription, etc.
To edit the Display name, Description, or Instruction of the agent, complete the following steps:
Click Edit in the upper-right corner of the page.
Enter the new name, description, or instruction.
Click Save in the lower-right or upper-right to save your changes.
To delete certain Foundry agents, follow the steps below:
On the Microsoft Foundry page, select the agents to delete.
Click Management > Delete above the table.
Click Management > Delete in the confirmation window.
Under certain circumstances (e.g., agent modification requirements), a Microsoft Foundry agent can be blocked to temporarily stop users in your organization from installing or using it. Once an agent is blocked, it will also be removed from users who have already installed it.
Due to API limitations, modern Foundry agents cannot be blocked or unblocked.
To block Microsoft Foundry agents, complete the following steps:
Select one or more agents to block and click Management > Block.
In the confirmation window, click Block agent. The agents will be blocked upon clicking.
To unblock agents when needed, complete the following steps:
Select one or more blocked agents and click Management > Unblock.
In the confirmation window, click Unblock agent. The agents will be unblocked and become available for users in your organization for installation and usage.
Alternatively, you can block or unblock an agent on the Agent details page by following the steps below:
Click the name of an agent to go to the Agent details page.
In the Basics tab, click the Edit icon in the Blocked field that shows the agent's blocking status.
In the confirmation window, click Block agent or Unblock agent.
