Recommendations

The Recommendations feature guides you through a wizard-based process to manage Google Drive content effectively. This streamlined process ensures customizable and effective information lifecycle management.

  1. Click Recommendations on the left navigation pane. Then, click the Start button on the Recommendations page to start the wizard. In Step1, select whether to manage the Google Drive content with classifications and configure the following settings based on your selection.

With Data Classification

  1. To manage the Google Drive content without classifications, refer to the steps below:

  2. In Step 2 Classification & Rules, create and manage classifications and rules to identify the content that should be managed and define rule actions on how to manage the content. For detailed instructions, refer to Manage Classification.

  3. Click Next to go to the Data scope step.

  4. In Step 3 Data scope, configure settings for containers and objects. For details, refer to Manage Data Scope.

  5. Click Next to go to the Schedule step.

  6. In Step 4 Schedule, configure schedule for jobs. For details, refer to Configure Job Schedule.

  7. Click Submit to save and apply the settings. Then a Sync classifications job and an Apply settings job will start to apply labels to files.

Without Data Classification

  1. To manage the Google Drive content without classifications, refer to the steps below:

  2. In Step 2 Classification & Rules, create rules to identify the content that should be managed and define rule actions on how to manage the content. For detailed instructions, refer to Manage Rules.

  3. Click Next to go to the Data scope step.

  4. In Step 3 Data scope, configure settings for containers and objects. For details, refer to Manage Data Scope.

  5. Click Next to go to the Schedule step.

  6. In Step 4 Schedule, configure a schedule to prune archived data. For details, refer to Configure Job Schedule.

  7. Click Submit to save the settings.
