#Update from a Power BI Template App

This article explains how to update reports from our Power BI template app. If newer reports are available, you will typically see an indicator in your workspace or in the notifications area.

If the notification does not appear, you can still update an existing workspace manually. If you have customized reports and want to preserve those changes, begin with Step 1. Otherwise, continue to Step 2.

Keep in mind: You need a Power BI Pro license to follow this guide.

If you have a Power BI Free license, you will need to load our reports from a Power BI Desktop model file (.pbix).

Most of the work in this guide is completed in the Power BI service. Open your browser and sign in at https://powerbi.microsoft.com.
